We are currently looking into a problem with the feed where some students are not able to login to some Drake services (wifi, library access database access off campus, and Drake owned computer logins).

Note: Blueview and email access is not impacted.

The outage will be during the evening hours from 7 PM until 10 PM CST.  We expecting minimal service interruption.  Full-service should be restored by Monday the 20th.

The first part of the Microsoft Office 365 Upgrade that Drake is undertaking will be to upgrade email.  Outlook email will receive an upgrade to 25 GB of storage. In addition we will be enabling the Lync communication / conferencing tool. If you use the mobile applications (online through blueView or via outlook.com/drake.edu)  there may be some minor design changes to the interface, though most functionality will remain the same.

Most devices and programs (including desktop clients for mac and pc) will automatically update, however a few older non-active sync compliant cell phone users may need to modify the server address field.

If you have been experiencing trouble with group email try installing the latest update. The update also fixes a bunch of other security and application issues and we recommend it for general installation.     • Export calendar events into personal calendar (Google, iCalendar, Outlook, etc)
  • Discussion Board has been redesigned and improved organization to make threads easier to read/view
    • Faculty/Staff can enable students to post/response before viewing other students posts/responses
  • Improved Content Text Editor can go full screen, modern HTML, and Video Recorder/Everywhere (recordings saved on YouTube)
  • Item Analysis for assessments to identify effective questions, diagnose learning needs, assessment efficiently, compare sections, etc
  • Added SMS one-way messages from BB to students/faculty
  • No more issues with special characters in the title or name of files or links

Detailed directions will be updated on May 31st as well as workshops.
