Released today, version 2.0 of blueMobile contains an app just for faculty called “Name That Student”. The app is designed to familiarize faculty with the faces and names of students who will be taking their courses in the upcoming term.
In the app, instructors are presented by course, a picture of each student in the course followed by 4 possible names. The course instructor must pick the correct name to go with the picture. Once their selection is submitted, blueMobile will indicate whether the selection is correct or not and if incorrect will present the correct name of the student. Instructors must do this for each student in the course. At the end, a grade based on the number of correct selections is assigned, but it’s all in fun, “Name that Student” can be repeated as many times as the instructor would like. A complete list of photos with names follows presentation of the grade in case extra studying is required.
